Jerry Buck knows that precision fertilizer placement is critical if he wants to get the most
out of his investment and see healthy crops. "The Challenger fertilizer openers from
Yetter put fertilizer about two inches to the side at the same depth as my seed," he said.
"Any other coulter that runs two to three feet in front varies a lot in depth in relation to
the seed.
"My corn was able to take advantage of the fertilizer immediately because of the close
proximity. I didn't worry that the fertilizer would be washed away by rain or not
available to the seed down the road."
In addition to the Challenger units, Jerry also uses Titan residue managers, and is
pleased with their performance as well.
Because Jerry is a mostly no-till farmer and plants into rocky soil, he appreciates both
units' durability. "They are both bullet-proof and flex up and down over the rocks," he
said. "It is absolutely essential to have strong row-cleaners and exact fertilizer placement,
and the Yetter tools provide that."
